Job Overview
Your job as a Copywriter is to produce engaging, clear copy and ideas for different communication channels and brands. As a creative thinker you will write copy for a variety of projects (including web, mobile, video, social media and at times print), working closely with the marketing consultants, social media managers and design teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Take ownership of briefs and answer them to a very high creative/technological standard, pushing clients towards fresh, exciting ideas.
- Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action.
- Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand. Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of campaign objectives and devise strategies to achieve them.
- Meet deadlines and stay within budget constraints.
- Have regular interaction with clients and provide suggestions for content-related issues.
- Assist with business pitches to win new clients or projects.
Qualifications
- You have a degree/diploma in Copywriting, Digital Copywriting, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Creative Writing or related.
- Prior experience in professional/commercial writing, copywriting or related communications experience (+2 years at least).
- A strong record in creating immaculate copy that stands out from the crowd.
- Great understanding of creative digital media and digital marketing processes.
- A persuasive and confident approach to creativity both in coming up with ideas for new projects and for getting a message across innovatively.
- Excellent communication skills and writing ability.
- Good research and analytical skills to gain an accurate understanding of the subject in question.
- Good attention to detail, including the ability to proofread your own and others’ work.
- Strong interpersonal skills as you’ll be working with a range of clients as well as creative and marketing team members.
- Proficient computer experience, including Microsoft and Google Tools, Keynote.
